first_img Share Her Excellency Elena Ramos Rodriguez Cuba’s Ambassador to Dominica Her Excellency Elena Ramos Rodriguez says Cuba has the political will to further strengthen the links with the Caribbean. Ambassador Rodriguez, who was speaking during a press conference ahead of Cuba-Caricom Day celebrations which will be observed on December 8th on Monday, noted various fields in which Cuba has assisted the Caribbean.“Cuba maintains close and excellent relations of friendships, solidarity and cooperation with CARICOM members in different fields. Cooperation has been implemented in the fields of education, training of human resources, health, energy, agriculture and others. Cuba has the political will to expand and further strengthen the links with the Caribbean.”She further highlighted Cuba’s assistance to Dominica in the tertiary education sector.“The Caribbean regional faces political, economic and natural challenges which require a united attention. More than 4072 Caribbean youths have graduated in our country 337 are Dominicans. Presently 2926 Caribbean youths are studying in Cuba, 86 of them are Dominicans,” she said.Meantime Rodriguez says 2304 Dominicans have benefited from the eye care program another initiative of Cuba in assisting and fostering closer ties with the island.Dominica Vibes News Sharing is caring!
