first_imgA man believed to be in his late 40s, identified as Opa Karwee, attempted suicide by imbibing acid water in Harrisville Ward, St. John River City, District #2A, Grand Bassa County, and is said to be dying slowly.Explaining his ordeal to the Daily Observer in tears and frustration last week, victim Karwee disclosed that he is a former tapper of the Liberian Agricultural Company (LAC) in Wee statutory District #3, Grand Bassa County.Victim Darwee narrated that he mysteriously left the job after his mother, Mary Frazier, “blew juju dust”, which caused him to leave his job and come to her in Hoegbahn Township in #2 District.Victim Darwee explained that after he came to his mother he began to suffer since now he could not find a job. When the money he had had finished, his mother began to make mockery of him, saying, “You for nothing child, why have you come here to be a liability on me?  Why you lied and boasted of the wealth you have in LAC? You will see your body!” he quoted his mother.He revealed that thereafter he and his mother engaged each other in unceasing palava until she left for Monrovia.  But,   according to him, his mother left her demonic spirit behind her to torment him at day and night.He mentioned that prior to her departure for Monrovia; he accused his mother of being a witch that has claimed lives of numerous people in the family, including his older brother Sakuo Karwee and others.“After this my ma told me and my wife to leave her village and go anywhere we want to live.”He reiterated that the week after his mother left the village, he secretly took acid water unbeknown to himself.  He later claimed that he was under demonic influence when he took a drink of it, but did not swallow all.  Only a drop entered his throat and he fell to the ground unconscious and was rescued by the community people.“Predicated upon my deplorable condition, my wife and other residents of the village rushed me to a nearby physician named Joseph Jackson, Jr. who charged me $2800LD but because the money was not available he rejected me,” Karwee said in a low voice.He noted that he is currently being treated by a prayer warrior named Naomi Tarr, the wife of a teacher, Alex Jacob Tarr, in the same vicinity.Karwee further explained that prior to the fuss between him and his mother, he dreamed that a group of unknown persons chased him to kill him, but he fortunately escaped and later awoke from his sleep.The attempted Suicide victim is therefore appealing to the national government, humanitarian and health related organizations as well as people of goodwill to help facilitate his survival.He can be contacted through our grand Bassa county reporter through cell # 0777-789-661.Share this:Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)last_img
