first_imgBrendan Marley, Glenfin working GwenBY MARY GALLAGHER IN PETTIGO: Well Day 1 of The Irish National Sheepdog Trial 2012 has been completed at Glebe Farm, Pettigo in the grounds of Castle McGrath on a warm hazy day perfect for dog and handler.Fifty handlers put their dogs through their paces on Thursday and run number 3 in the morning set a very high score which proved to be unbeaten:- Michael Hastings from Mayo with his dog Ben.Two of the top 5 handlers today are from Donegal and go on to represent Ireland at the Internationl Trial in Cardiff, Wales next month. Trialling begins again today, Friday, at 8am.
