Deputy Premier Frank Corbett, on behalf of Premier Dexter, today, Aug. 8, announced Dan McDougall will be the new associate deputy minister of Service Nova Scotia and Municipal Relations. Mr. McDougall has significant experience in municipal administration. He was chief administrative officer for the County of Colchester, a position he previously held with the Municipality of the District of Guysborough. From 1994 to 1999, Mr. McDougall worked for the province as a municipal advisor and director for Service Nova Scotia and Municipal Relations. “Dan brings work experience in both municipal and provincial government and has earned a strong reputation among municipal leaders and councils across the province,” said Mr. Corbett. “The province is committed to building stronger and more sustainable communities in Nova Scotia and Dan’s leadership will help us do that.” Mr. McDougall is board member with the Union of Nova Scotia Municipalities, a current executive member of the Nova Scotia Association of Municipal Administrators and has a masters of public administration from Dalhousie University. Mr. McDougall’s appointment is effective Oct. 15.
