first_imgNew Delhi: BJP’s Delhi candidates are strategising their campaign in a way with some of them focusing on national issues, while others picking on opposition members. Parvesh Verma (W Delhi) and Ramesh Bidhuri (South Delhi) solely kept their focus on national security and armed forces on Friday whereas, Manoj Tiwari (North East Delhi) and Gautam Gambhir (East Delhi) connected with voters on local issues and opposition bashing. While holding “nukkad sabhas” in Najafgarh and Dwarka constituencies, Verma said that 50 years’ worth of prayers from mothers across India were answered when Narendra Modi became Prime Minister in 2014. “The only reason we are able to celebrate Diwali in peace is that our PM Modi spends the day on the border strengthening the spirits of our soldiers. Modi’s sacrifices allow us to spend the festival happily and in peace,” Verma said. He also spoke of national policies that the BJP government has brought under the Modi regime and added that when people vote for the saffron party on May 12, they can be assured of their promises getting fulfilled. He said Azhar’s listing goes to show that the sacrifices made by the Indian Armed Forces have not gone to waste. “It is necessary to increase nationalist powers and elect BJP again,” he said. However, Delhi BJP chief Tiwari chose to play it closer to home and bashed the opposition at social welfare programmes in his constituency for trying to stop Modi’s national schemes from being applied in the Capital.last_img
