The Tiger-Cats were in Montreal Thursday night for the first of their two pre-season games, a dress rehearsal for some of the players who are guaranteed a spot on the roster. But for others without guarantees, it served as a job audition.A lovely night for a football game at picturesque Molson Stadium. And on the first play of the game, the Ticats get burned by the master; Anthony Calvillo. Calvillo connects with Jamel Richardson for a 50 yard gain to the Hamilton 28. And a few minutes later, aided by a couple of Ticat penalties, Chris Jennings will stretch the ball over the goalline, for an Alouettes TD. That was Calvillo’s only series of the game. Dan Lefevour, 3rd stringer last season, would get the start, and he dumps a pass to C.J. Gable, a running back out of USC, and Gable was able to bust it for a 37 yard gain. That big play would lead to a 33 yard field goal by Delbert Alvarado. Early 2nd quarter now and Lindsey Lamar, a rookie out of South Florida, gathers in a punt, and he ‘s off and running. Lamar races 88 yards to the house, and the Ticats had a 13-7 lead. And late in the first half, Lefevour, tosses to Chevon Walker, and Chevy revs up the engine, and motors 25 yards to the end zone, An impressive first half for Lefevour, a 2nd year player from Central Michigan, who’s battling Brian Brohm for the backup job. He was 10 for 19, 149 yards, 1 TD and he also rushed for 28 yards. Brian Brohm played the 3rd quarter and was 5 for 10, 110 yards. Jeremiah Masoli was 5 for 10 for 82 yards and one rushing TD in the 4th. A combined 340 yards passing, 77 rushing. Alvarado kicked 3 field goals, Brett Lauther one in a 33-26 final. A good night for Kent Austin and the Ticats.00:00:00 | 00:00:00::Projekktor V1.3.09
